Hi there!
I’m Shruti, a Product Designer based in Singapore. I enjoy creating user-centric, delightful experiences.
My most recent work stint was with Google as a UI Designer where I designed for some of its core offerings like festive campaigns, several marketing notifications, emailers and collaborated and worked closely with UX designers, illustrators, engineers, PMs and product leads. Having freelanced for three years in this young, rapidly growing startup environment - taught me how to balance business goals and engineering constraints as an unrelentingly advocate for the consumer.
I finished my postgraduation in Communication Design from the University of Southampton. I enjoy the human-centred design methods and techniques I learned in school and applied them to at my first job as a graphic designer in Mumbai. After working in tech for a brief period of time, my interest in UX Design developed and drove me to take up studying again. I am delighted to say, I completed the UX Design course by Google on Coursera in September 2021.
To me, design is a problem-solving activity. As a designer, I understand that the perfect design not only involves visual aesthetics but more importantly, a design that functions well. This requires a deep understanding of human behaviour and psychology - the outcome of which greatly impacts the overall experience of the product, regardless of the platform.
I personally enjoy working on projects that require both strategies as well as visual design. I love working on problems from the ideation stage and seeing them through completion through pixel-perfect designs. I dream to become a domain expert in my field by being able to move among the process from user research, designing, shipping and analyzing results.
